The mysterious Officer Matt Cordell is stalking the streets of
New York once more...the "Maniac Cop" is back! Once Cordell
was a hero, a supercop, but he was framed by crooked superiors
and now nothing can stop him on his macabre mission of
vengeance. They thought he'd vanished into the murky river
depths when he crashed off the pierhead in a stolen police
van...but they were terribly wrong. You can't kill the dead
that easily and the wrong arm of the law is back. Cordell's
burning need for revenge has driven him into an unholy
alliance with a vicious serial murderer. Now, the city's two
most feared killers have become partners in terror, sharing a
chilling common bond - the need to destroy. MANIAC COP 2
features an all-star cast, including Robert Davi ("License to
Kill"), Claudia Christian ("The Hidden"), Bruce Campbell,
("Evil Dead"), Robert Z'Dar ("Tango & Cash"), and Leo Rossi
("The Accused").

Trivia
-
Matt Cordell (Robert Z'Dar) speaks only
once, giving his surname.
Goofs
-
Revealing mistakes: When the Maniac
Cop is getting burnt in the prison, it's a stunt man
wearing protection (a bag) over his head.
-
Audio/visual unsynchronized: When
the angry cab driver is yelling at the female cop that
stole his taxi, the words you can hear him saying do not
match is mouth.
-
Continuity: When the clerk is
scratching tickets for the burglar, he starts scratching
the second one, then it goes to a close-up of his face and
he says that it isn't a winner, then it goes back to the
angle of his hands scratching tickets, and there are now
three scratched tickets laying there. The clerk had only
scratched two.
-
Revealing mistakes: When Maniac Cop
throws a man into (what looks like) a thick, solid wall
during the prison scene, the wall is clearly shaking.
-
Crew or equipment visible: At the
Police Station, as Cordell walks through the walls made of
glass, the second one clearly shatters before he walks
through it. Also, in the same scene a minute later, you
can clearly see the wire used to drag the officer through
the wall frames.
