Happy New Year, coppers! We hope everyone had a good 2008 and we're looking forward to bringing you more exclusive Maniac Cop content in 2009!

December 8th, 2008

Hello coppers! It's been awhile. Yes, we're still here. I was on vacation from late October until late November. I've been back for a few weeks now. Enough with that since I'm sure none of you care.

Anyway, today I added the Magna Pacific DVD of Maniac Cop 3: Badge of Silence from Australia to the site. Check it out.

Andrew and I decided to shut down the message board due to poor activity over the past few months. We'll be doing that at the end of the month/year. I guess there's only so much you can discuss about a trilogy of B-movies about a maniac cop. The site will live on, however.

No news about the next Maniac Cop film either. Hopefully some will surface soon.

Maniac Cop 4 News

At the recent Anthology Film Archives' screening of the first two films in the MANIAC COP series, director William Lustig broke the news that the franchise, on which he teamed for three movies with screenwriter Larry Cohen, will soon see a rebirth. “Larry and I have gotten the sequel rights back for MANIAC COP, and we’re preparing to do a MANIAC COP 4,” Lustig tells Fangoria. “I don’t have any more details other than that; this all happened within the last month, so it’s so fresh… When I get back to Los Angeles, Larry and I are going to sit down and work on something.” No doubt Lustig will be seeking more creative control than he had with the last installment, 1993’s MANIAC COP 3, which ran afoul of producer interference. We’ll keep tabs on this one and let you know more as soon as we know it! In the meantime, work is progressing on the latest chapter in the Officer Matt Cordell saga. “We’re going to reinvent the series with MANIAC COP 4,” Lustig said, adding that original actor Robert Z’Dar will not be donning the blue uniform again. “We want to start fresh. We replowed the field already.”
